I'm pretty new at taking photos - it's been years since I haven't relied on my husband Art to do the visual things on our trips. But this new venture is fun. The combination of a digital camera and iPhoto on my Mac make my efforts look better than they might otherwise.
We were fairly snug and warm in the snowcoach, and the temps were in the 20s on the day we spent in Yellowstone. What I notice most is that these photos almost look like they were taken in black and white. But they weren't. The park looks desolate, but not deserted. It's stark and beautiful at this time of year
Wow, amazing photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed Yellowstone in September and it's exhilarating to see the majestic park in the winter. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow, they are beautiful! I especially love the banner photo. One trick I have learned with iPhoto is to use the "adjust" mode in editing a picture and boost the saturation. It really make a big difference sometimes. Absolutely lovely pictures, though. I was there years ago in the winter and was amazed at the beauty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pictures....!!
ReplyDeleteYak Trax are these elastic, studded, springy things that fit on your shoes....they stop you from slipping on ice or snow.....
Enjoy
What awesome beauty. I would love to have been that close to bison. I think they are so neat.
ReplyDeleteSomeday---
Wow. I wouldn't have thought about going there in winter, but it's beautiful. Thanks for the photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful winter photos! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year from Southern California. No snow here but a lot of rain storms and mud slides!
Linda, I hope you and your family had a Wonderful Christmas Celebration.
God Bless You, ~Ron
I really enjoyed these. I'm glad you got to have such an adventure.
ReplyDeleteWow Linda you captured some truly amazing shots! Admitted amateur or not you definitely know what you're doing, the scenery is captured so peacefully. I especially love the waterfall photos and that last one of the lake (?) with the sun bouncing off it. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I have never considered a snow vacation, but I might now.
ReplyDeleteVery cool pictures!
ReplyDeleteLast comment was not Holly, she must have signed in while she was here.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see it in winter. Love the opening photo with the wolf. I actually recognize some of the Falls!
ReplyDeleteVery good photos! Some almost Ansel Adamish! Hope you are enjoying Yellowstone.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best in 2011.
I love the coyote at the top the best. Gorgeous pics! But now I'm really cold.
