My husband Art had a total knee replacement on Friday, June 8. It has been a long, long week. I'm going to defer to my sister's blog for her excellent description of our experience.
Oh Linda, your sister's description of the ordeal is priceless. And I too hope Art is going to be a little less hard on you this coming week. I cannot imagine the kind of pain he must be experiencing. More! Pain! Meds!
I think you were very, very smart when you had your sister come and help you and Art with his recovery. I hope the next week goes even better than the last has gone.
My friend is having one on Monday and she deliberately decided to go to rehab after the surger before coming home-I dont know the insurance dierence (she is also retired) but it sounds like alovely idea.
Hope the knee heals quickly--for everyone's sakes!
By the way, I was up at the cabin this weekend and I read your book--it was so good, I couldn't put it down. What a powerful story and so well told. I will do a review right away. You might not recognize my name because it will be under my real name, not my pen name.
I've had both hips replaced at separate times, but it sounds like the knee replacement is much more painful and difficult. Here's hoping I don't have to suffer through the ordeal you and Art did the past week! Kudos to your lovely sister!
I hope things go well for your husband.

ReplyDeleteThank goodness for your sister! She's a real trooper.
ReplyDeleteYour sister should be nominated for sainthood.
ReplyDeleteTaking care of a sick man or bathing cats...it's a toss up.

You're ready, as is he. Both of you are doing an amazing job.
