Arizona happenings 3

We're still hiking one to three miles every day in Sedona. We sleep in, open the curtains onto Oak Creek, and read or work quietly until lunchtime. Right after we eat we choose a trail and take off. We're back by late afternoon for more quiet time.

On the Llama Trail.

On the path to Submarine Rock.

View from the Mystic Trail. I'll stick to the pathway, thanks!

An overcast day. We walked the Jordan Trail and the Cibola Pass Trail.

Yesterday, bright and sunny again. This is the Andante Trail.

Friends arrived yesterday, a college roommate of mine and her fiance. We drove to the top of Airport Butte at sunset for photos, then had dinner at Jose Cafe, our favorite place here in Sedona. Tomorrow we'll drive up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We leave for Tucson on Friday for three days before flying home on Monday the 23rd.

I logged into Amazon last night looking for my book. There are two reader comments! One is from a Seattle friend of mine but I don't know "Geezer", the author of the other one. I thought it might be my ex, who has referred to us all as geezers for the last 20 years, but my last name is misspelled, and I think he would get that right. So someone has read the book and thought enough of it to comment. It is oddly thrilling to see a positive comment out there.

There is a snowstorm in Seattle this week. I love snow. I wish I were there. Well, not really. I wish it had held off until we got back. Oh, well.

The only 'Geezer' I know is the husband of Mage on the Postcards blog

She's always talking about the Geezer when referring to her husband.

As I write the snow is falling, no, it's more like dumping down! We've been waiting several days for the storm to finally get to us. Schools are closed. I think I'll just stay put and get caught up on blog reading.

Your photos are beautiful. The Grand Canyon is one place I want to go with the spouse when he retires. He's never been.

Sounds like the perfect vacation. I am jealous sitting at home wrapped up in warm clothes in the cold Northeast!

There is someone who goes by The Old Geezer that follows you and many of us. Perhaps?

It looks like a ton of fun!~ Love the red rock!

It's really beautiful there, Linda. Right now (2:17pm Wednesday) here in Bellingham it's 16 degrees F with 30mph winds. Horizontal snow and brutal, actually. Those pictures and blue sky are a breath of fresh air, literally. :-)

You're not missing much except a lot of hassle.

Your daily routine sounds wonderful! And while we are enjoying the snow for a few days, we don't want it to stick around until you get back. sorry. Tonight we might have freezing rain - an ice storm. Not nice. Schools are closed again tomorrow.

Linda,

I'm glad your time in Arizona has been so plesant and productive. The weather has cooperated and by the time you get home the snow probably will have melted.

Next next we are in Sedona we will check out that cafe.

I'm trying to catch up on reading my favorite blogs so I'll have to back track a bit on yours! I absolutely love Sedona, too. So glad you had a good time. Your photos are amazing. :-)

Your visit sounds (and looks!) fabulous, and inspiring since B and I are headed out that way in a couple of weeks. How far is it form Sedona to the south rim of the CG? Can you go up and back in one day? Thx!

What I wouldn't give to trade places with you. I love the Grand Canyon almost as much as I don't love snow. It sounds like you're having a wonderful time. Love the photos.

I am so jealous! I spent some magical days at the Grand Canyon 40 years ago, loving it every minute! Your photos are beautiful, just stunning.

Not sure there will be snow by the time you get back. The sad part is the flooding is taking it's toll everywhere.

Have a safe trip home!
